So social media is a way to connect with people, to allow social movements to grow, to pass a message that can impact many people. But it is also something else. Social media is also a great way to share our creativity, even more to find other people with whom we can share same interests in creativity.
When talking about creativity and social media two apps come to my mind : Tumblr and Pinterest.
Tumblr is a social media created in 2007, it is a microblogging and social networking website. It allows the users to post pictures, videos, gifs, or texts (many type of content) to a short-form blog. The users can follow eachother, but they can also make their blog private.
As of April 8 2018, Tumblr hosts over 406,9 million blogs.
Pinterest is an application company that allows users to discover informations on the World Wide Web. In the research bar, the users can look for something by typing for exemple the name of a city and they will find pictures, gifs or videos connected to a link wich will give them infos (ex : itinirary, or what to do in).
The last trip I took was in Prague and I used Pinterest to see what other people did there what they were recommanding.
Both apps allows you to show your creativity, see the creativity of others and also connect with other users. For instance on Tumblr if you find a blog with content that shows you share the same interests with the other person, you can start chatting, and share together thoughts about the subject .
Both websites are also used to inspire people. Most of the images you will find there are almost perfect. Perfect landscape, perfect designs ect … All those pictures can be considered aspiring, as people might want to change some things in their life (even just how their desks organized) because of the pictures they see.
And even if some are not perfect it can help people who have ideas but still need to be inspired to get their idea completed.
Therefore, social media allow the users to create, and to show the internet world their creations, to share with others and to inspire.
